Join National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) rangers for a fascinating guided walk exploring the rare Moiled Cattle grazing the historic grasslands of the Enniscoe Estate. Discover how traditional livestock play a vital role in conserving biodiversity and managing these beautiful landscapes.

10.30am & 2.30pm – Horse Logging Demonstration with Alan Lynch
Step back in time and see traditional horse logging in action in the Oak Plantation on the Enniscoe Estate. Learn how this sustainable forestry practice works in harmony with the woodland environment.
Venue: From the North Mayo Heritage Centre, follow the track to the lake and then the Loop 2 signs to the Oak Plantation.

11.00am–3.00pm – Historic Photograph Archive Project
Help preserve North Mayo’s history by bringing along your treasured old photographs (up to five per person) to be digitally scanned. You’ll receive digital copies of all suitable photographs to keep while contributing to an important community archive for future generations.
