Have you ever wondered where your ancestors lived? Locating your ancestors family farm or old homestead is often the most satisfying aspect of genealogical research providing you with a real link to your past.

How can we help?
Historic records such as censuses, land records, birth, death and marriage records, and a host of other local records, enable us to learn a lot about the individuals including where the townland in which they lived. Often these records are of sufficient detail to enable our experts to locate individual farms and homesteads, and with our extensive knowledge of the local area, we are often able to pinpoint an ancestral home.
Our experts also utilise cartographic sources and modern imaging techniques to help determine the exact location of homesteads helping us to locate individual homes or buildings that;
- Have been modernised (and may even have present-day relatives residing there).
- Are under non-family ownership.
- Have been demolished completely.
- Have been converted to sheds for farm animals.
- Are now a ruin.

Depending on the available evidence, our researchers can identify the location of the
homestead, outline its current status, and provide clear directions along with relevant
present-day images.
If you are not visiting in person we can undertake your research and provide a series of maps, images and links to street views via email. Our clients agree that this is a great alternative when visiting the area is not possible.
